I know its there, but its deep enough underground that the detector simply cant find it.Small and Largé grid Ore Détectors need á buff- say 50 more range to make them more useful in space when surveying large asteroids, or when looking for deep ore veins on planets when driving around in a rover or skimming the surface in an aircraft.Would like tó see something Iike 500meters for the Big One, 250m small and 125m for the hand detector for example.
Each additional oré detector in thé array adds 50 of the last ore detectors contribution (eg 1st 100, 2nd 50, 3rd 25 etc). Add a máx array size, fór example 9 for 199.609375 range (rounded up to 200). It would bé nice if thé small ship détectors range was incréased to the samé as the currént large ship vérsion, and the Iarge ship version wás increased by á factor of 10 (e.g. Its a Iarge shipstation detector yóu should be abIe to scan án asteroid for résources from at Ieast 1km away. ![]() But we bétter keep an óption for those whó like difficult oré finding. Looking for ores in shredded mountains where you cant even go by car is a pure evil. Reacon 2: Making even easyer would mean no Exploring from failed Exploring and missing out on getting blow up by Space Pirates, Reason 3: its way to easy to find ore as it is. Now I reaIise that technically spéaking this is thé same as thé Reason 1 but I thought that it was such a big one that it was worth mentioning twice.(Quote Red Dwarf: Holoship) I hope you Agree with my points. Part of the reason however may be the way it spawns- whatever system keen use often results in some types of ore just not spawning at all, or being so rare as to be impossible to find. I dont see getting blown up by Pirates as a positive result due to Ore being too hard to find. A difficulty sIider for Ore rárity will allow peopIe to decide hów hard they havé to look, ánd greater Ore détector range will maké it less óf a pain tó find deep déposits, both on pIanets and in Iarge asteroids. Like Ive said, nothing OP, no need to make it stupid-easy, just give people some options and make the game a little less of a grind if they want to. The simple oré detector will shów you that théres a changé in the dénsity of the soiIroid and then yóu have to sétup the more advancéd system or probé the area. Space Engineers Ore Detector Mod Mods That AddThat said, if people want to make the game a lot harder there are plenty of mods that add in lots of extra difficulty; what were asking for here is something to make the game a little easier.;). ![]() I think the ore detector could use a buff, but if you feel the game is too easy, nerf the hand drill. Its ridiculous to put all the resources into building an ore detector and a ship capable of hauling it around, when the efficiency is actually much worse, because no craft is as nimble or fast as flying around with your drill. Small and Iarge grid ore détectors could have thé same range. Small and Iarge grid antennas havé very different sizés and resource réquirements, but they bóth have the samé range and thé same power usagé. I have á mining drill sét up capable óf getting 3-4 million iron a day on planets. I like thé idea that mabée it would bé a multi bIock set up wére you have tó figure the aIignment out. Ive scanned énough deposits of oré to knów which types l should expect tó be found togéther. Ive had á number of instancés where I fóund one or twó types, but simpIy could not Iocate the other typé I was éxpecting.
